Ok, I am finally posting.  I have been a long time lurker and have had my weight under control most my life.  Now, NOT so much!  I am currently up to 144, and would like to be down to 134.  I am hoping the weekly weigh ins will keep me on track.  I am good with the exercising and eating during the day, but pig out at night.  It has totally caught up to me and become a habit that is REALLY hard to break.  I would love any tips for how you all keep from eating at night, I know if I can get out of that cycle the weight will come off.

Thanks in advance for your support!  144/144/134 0lbs lost

Welcome to our circle of buddies, I'm glad you jumped in and joined us!

You hit the nail on the head by stating that nighttime eating is a "habit" for you. Time to break that habit, and you have all the accountability you can ever need to do that right here. Do you eat enough high-nutrition food through the day (protein, complex carbs-veg and fruit, fibre, enough calories)? Sometimes depriving ourselves through the day will lead to evening bingeing.

How about making a list of all the activities you can do at night instead of eating? Keep busy with something else (housework, reading, a hobby). Or post sticky notes on the fridge, pantry and cupboardfs that read, "Am I truly hungry?", "Do I need this many calories before bed?", "STAY AWAY!"...etc. LOL Then at least it is a conscious reminder that you don't need whatever you're going for, and if you make the choice to eat it anyway, it is conscious and deliberate, not a habit.

Make sense at all? You can get out of this cycle...and you will notice results pretty quickly. Nighttime eating is the worst for metabolism and trying to burn fat...good luck in your efforts. Make yourself at home on the board and I look forward to getting to know you!
