Happy 4th of July to all you buddies in the USA!  What are everybuddy's plans for this weekend?  I'll be leaving for my parents' house later this morning, and coming back tomorrow afternoon.  We went to see the fireworks last night.  They were beeeeeeautiful.

I was thinking that summer is a really great time to be able to "party" and not stray too far from our diets.  There's so many fresh veggies and fruits to snack on plus fresh grilled protein -- mmmmmm.  We can eat really yummy stuff and stay healthy.  Life is good!

Have a wonderful day, Buddies!!!

Good Morning!

You are here nice and early today, Karen! I hope you have a nice visit with your folks.

Happy 4th to everybuddy!

I enjoyed my day off yesterday. Was up early, went to Starbucks because my coffee maker's carafe broke (a true day off - gotta have coffee!!) and also got one of their yogurt parfaits (yogurt, strawberries, blueberries, and about 1 1/2 tablespoons granola.) Then I downloaded and sorted photos from my trip back home a couple weeks ago for my mom's 65th and sent the slideshow to family and friends. (and did laundry - real life has to go on...) Then I met a friend for lunch - had a really good salad: field greens, salmon, daikon radish, carrots, mango (yes, mango! mmmm!) in a lemon citrus dressing. Then to Target for a coffee carafe replacement and to the store for tonight's picnic dinner groceries. A friend of mine grew up in Vietnam and Iran and even though she's been in the states for many years and went to college here, she's never had the full-blown 4th of July celebration with fireworks. Last year we had an adventure, along with my DH and her fiance, taking the bus to the park to join the crowd by the lake to see/listen to the Austin Symphony and watch the city fireworks over the lake. The only problem was that I didn't realize the city no longer held the event at that location anymore! We got to the park and I was like, gee, it's usually much more crowded than this...and then we could hear the symphony off in the distance on the other side of the lake. Oops. So it's a do-over this year! I checked 3 different websites and even called the bus company to make sure I have the stops and schedule correct! I'm packing scrumptious sandwiches: french bread with turkey, brie, fig spread, and spring greens; another kind with french bread, turkey, chopped kalamata & spanish olives mixed with olive oil, garlic, and Italian seasoning, roasted red peppers, and mozzarella, and lastly french bread with turkey, avocado, tomato, and spring greens. I experimented last night and the one with brie and fig spread was so yummy I was dancing. I know it's not good diet food, ergh, but it's a holiday. Feel free to scold me! What I did yesterday was worse (daily log to be posted will have the shameful details.)

I'm trying to work up the courage to go to my neighborhood pool this morning. I can see it from my back window; we've been here a year and a half and I haven't ventured over there yet. I don't know many neighbors and it feels weird to first meet people nearly undressed in a bathing suit. I have to get over it because I think swimming would be good for me.

Other than that I'll probably do chores around the house today until it's time to enjoy the festivities tonight!

Happy Day to all!

~Cindy

Hi People!

Happy 4th of July!

I had yesterday off and boy was it productive! Bill and I got up and did breakfast then hit the Target store, and did the gym. Can I just say I was thrilled yesterday at the gym. I went on the ecliptical lvl 6 for 30mins but man oh man was i almost dead by 15mins. So by 10mins I went down to level 5 and at 20 to level 4. I was so tired I said okay i'll stop at 25 minutes but when I realized I had almost burned 400 calories I just kept going. I was so estatic

Then Bill crushed my dreams when he started explaining about how 1 of our machines must have been faulty because we were going at the same pace, and I burned more calories than he did....*Sighs* men.

So then we went home showerd and headed out for lunch, book shopping but didn't find anything good. Got home I took a 30minute nap with radar...thats always fun. Then we shared a yogurt cup...yes I shared it with Radar....he thinks I should share everything with him i dont know why....

I did laundry and cleaned. I actually have a living room and a dining room! I never thought that would happened lol. I got all my laundry done, put the rest of it away this morning. I was super productive yesterday. Felt great!

Tonight were going to pick up dinner at a local pizza shop and heading over to the highschool to watch fireworks. Should be fun!

You astound and inspire me with your exercise, Cass...keep it up!!! Ignore Bill!!! LOL No machine gives a 100% accurate calorie count, it's just an estimate. You are doing SO WELL...every minute on that machine is WORTHWHILE!! Big hugs,

We didn't get through the day without a rain shower and we were down in the park when it started, about a block away from my mom's house.
