Howdy doody, Buddies!

Whew!  It's been a busy day already.  I ran (and I mean ran) to the grocery store this morning to get some groceries before Dan had to leave for work.  (We currently have only one working car.)  I've gotten some paperwork finished - yay!  Now I'm finally getting to play on the puter!

How has your Friday been so far?  Are you gearing up for a great weekend?  We're going to have a cookout tonight and hopefully watch a movie tomorrow night.  It was Jolie's choice this time, and she picked Life is Beautiful.  I'm really looking forward to it.  I remember when the star of the movie (Benini?) won an Oscar, and he climbed over the chairs and gave the most enthusiastic speech - so adorable.  On Sunday, I hope we get to try another church -- still looking for the right one.

I hope you're having a fabu Friday!

Hi Karen-

I spent my morning with Logan's class at a waterpark, which meant I had to get moving early this morning to drop off Justin at my mom's.

Sorry I haven't been around as much lately. I've been struggling with eating right. Work is less stressful right now than it has been in a really long time but I'm still living out my stress eating habits. I need to get a life. Seriously! I work, I watch tv, I eat. Sure, I see friends and do the necessary laundry, etc., but, well, I guess without children it's just too easy to come home from work and vegetate. So I would like to try a TV diet and start living again. I never used to watch this much TV. I'm not blaming DH because it's in my control how I spend my time, it's just that he's on the computer so much that I gradually started watching more and more tv. It's out of control now. I could almost say I have a tv addiction. Of course, watching tv means I'm sitting on my big 'ol butt, which doesn't help the agenda of losing! Sigh. My brain knows what I need to do; I don't know what keeps me from doing it. I keep thinking once I have children I will have a life. Those of you with children, what do you think/know? I know I should embrace my freedom while I have it, and I do appreciate it, but am I crazy to wish I had all the responsibilities and structure of parenthood to come home to? Whew, sorry to be so heavy!

On a different note, Karen, Life is Beautiful is in my top 10 list. Can't wait to hear what you thought! I'll tell you my reaction to it after you've seen it.

I was the same as you before I had kids, with watching TV all the time.

"Life Is Beautiful" is a wonderful movie...I think you're going to love it, but just make sure you have tissues okay? :)

Boy was I antzy today. I did not want to be at work! 1 manager was on vacation, 2 left early. Another manager came in late, so me and my co worker did not want to even be therelol. We did everything to get out of the office. Even if it meant to walk down the hall.

Luckily now its the weekend. Whooo hoooo!

Thank you so much for writing, Mary! Yes, I think DH and I will both find that our tv/computer time will decrease dramatically once we have a family. I know being a parent brings monumental sacrifice and responsibility but I hope and pray for that challenge! (Will I someday eat my words? Then I'll be eating Ben and Jerry's AND my words? Oh no!) One thing for sure is that I'm not looking forward to being a working mom. I wish I could stay home with him/her. Were you working before you had your children? Sorry if I am asking too personal of a question and I certainly understand if you'd rather not discuss!

Again, I appreciate your response and your support! Have a great weekend with your boys! They are a blessing!

Yeah, my DH works late, too, esp. with his old job. He'd work late and work weekends. Most of my girlfriends here had moved out of state and I wound up watching tv. Reading seems like a better activity. My dingleberry excuse for not reading much lately is that I need reading glasses! Actually, I need bifocals. I have reading glasses and this past week have started reading again before bed. Just need to get used to the glasses.

I am sure that if I ever have children I will someday post here (as I'll be trying to lose the baby fat, lol!) how exhausted I am and how can I not be losing weight with all the running around I do. I was a private nanny for two years and it was only 8-5 but it's a lot work! Being sleep deprived with a baby will surely knock me out.

What you had to say was definitely useful and I really appreciate your encouragement!

Thanks!

~Cindy
