GOOD SATURDAY AFTERNOON, BUDDIES!!
| Sat, 07-11-2009 - 12:47pm |
Ooooo, it's so quiet and gray here today. I don't know if we're expecting rain, but the sun is definitely taking some down time.
How has your Saturday been so far? I haven't really gotten much done yet. I am dressed - does that count? ;o) I may go shoe shopping with K if she gets inspired to go, but other than that and the movie tonight, I don't have any definite plans.
I hope you're have a terrifically wonderful Saturday!

It's a little overcast here, too, though still expected to be over 100. I've done some housework this morning and am making a grocery list. No plans this weekend though I'd like to get together with friends or at least get DH out of the house at some point.
We had a little drama earlier this week when my pookie cat, Eddie, went into respiratory distress. Nothing like it had ever happened before and as far as we knew he was a healthy cat, though could stand to lose a few pounds (like momma, like cat?) Turns out he has asthma, a heart murmur, and possibly a genetic heart condition. He's on medication now and he's such a good boy! Giving a cat a pill isn't always so easy! He doesn't like it but he's such a trooper that however much I loved him before I love him even more now! I will stop gushing! I think he'll be ok but, geesh, my bank account sure took a hit! I had been socking away all my overtime to surprise DH with a trip to Grand Cayman later this year. The vet bills were more than the airfare! Eeesh! I'm not excited about working more overtime.
On a losing note, I had been thinking of putting myself on some sort of award system, like you would for a child. If I kept my calories down, exercised, drank water, etc., all these things would be worth so many stars, or whatever. Then once I earned enough stars I could get an award, like a manicure or something. So in the back of my mind I was thinking about it's like having to treat myself as if I were a child to get myself to do the things I drag my feet on (I don't WANNA.....!! wah wah!) Then I was reading some Fly Lady stuff (a how to get your household organized website, which is pretty cool) and I came across a website called thebratfactor. It's about acknowledging your inner brat - you name your brat and everything. So for fun I'm going to read more about it and see if I pick up anything helpful as far as changing some bad habits (ie, eating whatever I want, watching tv instead of exercising or cleaning.) I named my inner brat Grace Adler from Will and Grace. Ha ha! (see how I have too much time on my hands not being a mom? sad!) So I'm going to make Grace post food logs every day again. And if she wants to go out and play tonight or tomorrow, she needs to do laundry first!
Need to get a life,
Cindy
