Happy Walksday, my friends! Everybuddy got your walking shoes on? What will you do to add some extra steps to your day? Last Walksday I found myself doing the oddest little things to add steps. I would leave my glasses sitting in my bedroom so I'd have to run back and fetch them later. I'd carry my meal out to the table, but instead of trying to carry everything at once, I'd leave things behind so I'd have to make separate trips for the salt, my drink, etc. I did little things like that all day. It was interesting to see how I've engineered my life so I take as few steps as possible. LOL I'm going to focus on having a more active, walky kind of day again today.
Other than walking, I'm going to be working on getting my classes organized. I start teaching again next week, so I have to get cracking. I went to a welcome back dinner for the faculty last night. It was more fun than I expected, but less fun than sitting at home watching Hell's Kitchen. ;o)
I hope you have a wonderful Walksday. Let's make our dogs howl!!!

Hey buddies,
My extra steps for the day are coming in the form of walking to the kids playing (they have a friend over) and threatening them to play well together or we won't have friends over any more. (LOL). I also have to walk over to them and tell them to play nicely with Aiden too. They tend to play "Monster" and run away from him. He gets his little feelings hurt because he doesn't want to be "the monster". I am also trying to clean up this house, and pick up behind the kids...that'll keep you on your feet, that's for sure!!!
Anyway, I'm on day 3 of eating well...doing well even though AF just showed up. I keep telling her that I am strong and she will not sabotage me. So far, so good! :)I am down 7 pounds since Monday. I'm sure I'll quickly get down to 198 and then get stuck there. That's what has happened the last 3 times I've tried to lose weight.

It's going to be different this time, Dawn.

Morning Karen-
I had to laugh at how you got your extra steps last week, good for you.
Today we were supposed to do something fun with my mom, but when I called her, she wasn't feeling well.

Hello,
I've been sporadic about posting but I've made strides in improving my habits. I don't want to put junk in my body and I want to grow old healthy so that's my mindset. No sugary snacks, nothing fried, plenty of fruits and vegetables every day. Worked out twice this week - this is still something I have to increase. The scale hasn't moved much but within 48 hours of cutting out most refined sugar I noticed changes in how I felt. I made bran muffins without sugar or any sweetener and used oat bran and whole wheat flour instead of white flour. DH took a bite and made a face. I said, "it's fuel for the machine." He said, "yeah, but you gotta be able to get the food INTO the machine..." LOL. He politely finished the one muffin then GENEROUSLY left the rest for me; ha! And I've cut way back on caffeine. So, regardless of the scale I'm feeling good!
Thinking of ya'll!
