How long did you need help at home?

I've been reading some of the posts here about needing help for only about a week after coming home from a c/s. Has that been the case for most? I required help for about 4weeks after my first c/s. I should add that that was after 22weeks of strict bedrest so I was very weak from the bedrest as well. I'm just not sure how much each contributed to me feeling so badly for so long. It was a couple of months before I felt "well." I'm scheduled for a c/s this pg at 38w after 26w of bedrest this time. I'm not looking forward to caring for an infant and my 3yr old!

My Mom stayed 3 weeks with both c-sections. Around the second week I was ready for her to leave, but was glad to have the help. I think its ideal (if you can get someone) to have them there until at least your 2 week appointment, when you are cleared to drive.

You were cleared to drive at 2weeks? I wasn't allowed to drive until 4weeks. MIL has been living w/ us taking care of DS while i'm on br so she'll stay longer ... but sort of feel like I'm ready to get my house back to myself yet I remember how long my recovery was last time after all the bedrest.
