Do any of you get weird cravings........

......or is it just me? The one meal of the day I eat about 75% of the time is breakfast, and it is usually oatmeal, which isn't that weird, but I add things to plain oatmeal. Like this morning I added brown sugar and shredded cheddar, and it was actually pretty good. I have been craving protein foods like cheddar and peanut butter.

Hi MIchelle,
Maybe this is a good sign in that your body is telling you what you need and you are actually aware of it. Our bodies are actually amazing machines who know exactly what we need at any given time.
There is a book called 'The Metabolic Type Diet' which I found very interesting. It's not a diet as in how to loose weight, but how to find the right foods for your metabolic type. I am a strong protein type and crave/need protein with every meal. My breakfast usually consists of 5 to 6 oz of chicken, ostrich, or other lean protein and half an avocado and maybe some coconut oil. Throughout the day I eat several small meals and each has anywhere from 3 to 6 oz of protein as a base.
You may not be as strong of a protein type, but maybe you are not getting enough anyhow. The book is available at the library and has a test in it you take to determine what type you are.
Here is a link to some basic nutrition info (http://www.mercola.com/2003/feb/26/metabolic_typing.htm)and on it there is a link to the book I was talking about. I love this doctor's website (www.mercola.com). He is an MD but believes in healing illness naturally with food and supplements. I have gotten a lot of help on this site.
Or you could just continue to listen to your body and if you crave protein, then have some. And yes, ther are times I crave weird things, too.
