Hello, My name is Sarah and I have been recovered from my bulimia and anorexia for almost 2 years now. I truly began my recovery when I was pregnant with my son who is now 10 months. I post regularly on the pregnant/ed and I hope I can be of some help on this board too. Support is one of the best things someone trying to recover from an ED can have and I hope I can be part of this group of support.

Hi Sarah,

Welcome to the board - we would love for you to join us. Please post any time whether it's to receive or give support.

If you don't mind, would you share a little more about yourself, particularly how you recovered. It's always helpful to hear how others battled this disease.

Love & hugs, Kristina

Welcome to the board and thanks so much for joining us! I hope you find support here and we welcome your support. You are right, support is so important in recovering from an ed. Without all my friends, family, this board and especially God I don't think I would be alive. Welcome again!!!

Well..

I became anorexic when I had my tosils taken out during my freshman year in college. I then became bulimic 2 years later because I was not maintaining the weight I wanted to. I knew I needed a change 2 years after that when I had heart troubbles and was hospitalized... without any of my family knowing what was going on. On my own with the help of a friend I went to a counselor for a while but she was not what I needed at that time. So, a relapsed fo a while until I met my husband. I wa ssososososo tired of lying to everyone. If no one knew the truth I wanted him to know because I didnt want to cover up anything anymore. Having an ED took so much out of me emotionally and phisically. I lost a lot of friends along the way and lost faith in my family because they watched everyhitng without saying anything. I got married and 2 months later I found out I was pregnant.. and that did it for me. I began eatting and taking care of myself for my child. My son is now 10 months old and I have a very normal diet and a very supportive husband. so, thats my story. I hope I can be of some help here.
