questions about splenda

Ok..I am confused. I try to use sugar substitutes instead of real sugar, but I quit using sweet n low and equal because they were supposidly bad for you. Now, Splenda is being thought of as bad for you also. SO NOW I AM REALLY CONFUSED. What is a person to do? I really can't go completely without sweetner so which is the least bad for you? I realize that most everything seems to bad for you in some way, but how can you figure out which is best for you??? Anyone???

I know it's confusing and believe me I was bummed about the Splenda, too. I would start my morning with a cup of coffee with 3 Splenda in it. Then I would have several cups of herbal tea throughout the day with 2 or 3 more in it. Plus other low carb stuff sweetened with Splenda. I thought I would not be able to quit. Now I hardly ever use it anymore. I stopped drinking coffee and have a cup of green tea in teh AM instead and if I put any sweetener in it then I use 1/2 pack of Splenda. It makes it just slightly sweet, but doesn't set off sweet cravings afterwards.
I think the more healthy choices would be Stevia or Mannitol. I believe both are natural whereas Splenda, Equal, and Sweet 'n' Low are not. If you want more info on this go to www.mercola.com and do a search on his search engine.
