well it has been a while since I posted last, I have been having my fair of struggles but right now as of today I am starting the Atkins diet, in hopes of losing wt and becoming healthy all at the same time.

I have started homeschooling one of my kids b/c he is dsylexic and so far he is learning very very fast still having problems with his reading.

Kristina have a Q for ya , I know you have done/doing the Atkins diet how do you get past the cravings for sugar and carbs??? how long does it last usually? please help me I know i have no right in asking you for help and I am sorry btu I truely want to become healthy and beat this evil side of me.

feel free to email me at greeneyes@pcsia.net

Hi Mary,

I am glad to hear that you are working on getting better. While I am a little concerned with you going on Atkins to loose weight, I do think it's a good idea to cut out sugars. Everybody is different but I would say it takes at least 3 days for the cravings to go away, but for me that included cutting out artificial sweeteners in my tea/decaf like Splenda and also all the low carb bars sweetened with artificial sweeteners. IMHO as long as you continue to consume them you will crave sweets.

Love & hugs, Kristina

TY Kristina for your input no need to be concerned about me going on the Atkins to lose I have plenty to lose and still be healthy.

As for me with sweets I was drinking 24 cans of pop in a day and now since Sunday I havent had a drink of pop I am drinking water ( flavored ) and I feel like crap right now but I am hopeing that will go away soon, I know it is best for my body. My energy level is way down and I am very moody and I have heard that was one of the symptoms of going off carbs and sugars. I will soon be getting my exercise bike so that will hopefully help me lose some of my body fat and help my lungs get stronger ( I have asthma ) and I am getting the bike to build up my lungs and to be honest to lose the wt. my fear is that I will over do it and be excessive at exercising again, I can never do things in moderation. But I feel as if I need to lose wt in order to be happy about who I am and I know that is all my ED but right now I am so unhappy with the way I look I have never been this high on my wt not even when I was PG. here this post was pose to be to TY and I just kept rambling on and on. TY very much kiddo

hugs and luvs

I don't think Atkins would be the best idea... it is a DIET! Diet is a bad idea! I would HIGHLY recommend the looking into the Zone (diet but it's not really a diet) for me it is truly a LIFESTYLE. I feel like I could be on the Zone forever and it is my way of life! Atkins is not a way of life. I think you may deprive yourself then binge and then hate yourself and be back to where you started! Try the Zone... it's basically where you eat 40% carbs, 30% protein, 30% fat. Zone has helped me transform my eating habits and stay away from Ed tendencies!

TY. I went of the Atkins diet the very same day and went to the Dr. Phil's weight loss challenge and I am hopeful of it if it dont work then I will do the zone.

Mary - Don't get discouraged by it because it seems "confusing" at first... I like it because it has TRULY helped me change my way of eating. I am in control of my eating 99% of the time and I feel it is healthy and life changing. If you need help or advice about it, ask!
