  1. Are you superstitious?
No, but I used to be.

  2. What extremes have you heard of someone going to in the name of superstition?
    None that I can recall.

  3. Believer or not, what is your favorite superstition?
That something positive will happen in a set number of days if I send an email to a set number of people within the next set number of days or hours.

  4. Do you believe in luck? If yes, do you have a lucky number/article of clothing/ritual?
No, I believe in miracles by God. IMHO any piece of clothing or a particular number can't bring luck.

  5. Do you believe in astrology? Why or why not?
    No, I believe in God.

1) Are you superstitious?

Well, I had OCD when I was younger, so I guess I had a lot of "superstitions" because that's the way it looked! I had to do things a set number of times (turning on/ off the faucet, locking doors, setting my alarm, etc.) and couldn't eat off certain-colored plates, wouldn't wear certain colors. I didn't have a really specific fear that I was trying to prevent, just a sense that something bad would happen if I didn't do the ritual correctly. I had a lot of routines and rituals!

2) What extremes have you heard of someone going to in the name of superstition?

A milder example is the only one I can think of. The star of the girls' basketball team in high school couldn't sleep without her basketball. Not quite my idea of cuddly!

3) Believer or not, what is your favorite superstition?

It cracks me up when Rachael Ray (on the Food Channel) throws salt over her shoulder as she's using it to cook, for good luck. She does it every time, too. I'm not a fan of doing that myself! :)

4) Do you believe in luck? If yes, do you have a lucky number/article of clothing/ritual?

I still have traces of the OCD, especially with numbers and especially when I'm anxious about something. When I'm in class and especially when taking a test, I like everything (papers, pens, etc.) to be paralleled, centered, or whatever. It's all about getting things to feel balanced and "right." I don't really believe it does anything for me, but I still do it when I'm nervous.

5) Do you believe in astrology? Why or why not?

Well, I think horoscopes are written in such a way that you can find them "true" no matter what kind of day you've had (with some exceptions). Generally, I think interest in astrology ranges from curiosity to addiction, and in any case should be avoided. In agreement with Kristina's answer, I think anything that distracts or removes you from your relationship with God is, at best, unhealthy.
