After 18 years of Bulimia, I sought treatment several years ago, and within 2 months of seeing a therapist and following up with my doctor I was in full recovery. THis lasted for over a year and a half.
I took Celexa for many months and then was switched to other various meds when the Celexa didn't seem to have much impact any longer. I can't seem to find medication that helps me the way Celexa seemed to in the beginning.
I am currently on Zoloft, and personally, it doesn't do a thing for me...
Was thinking of Wellbuterin (sp?) as I haven't tried that yet and I remember it was successful for some of the board members.
I am slipping into my old ways again and plan to see my doctor at the end of this week...I would love to have an idea of which type of medication I should speak with him about.
I am looking for something that helps curb the appetite as well as everything else the meds help with.
Thank you in advance for any light you can shine on this subject!

Hi Pattie,
I do not take anti-depressants because they just did not work for me but I did not want your post to go unnoticed. My own experience with anti-depressants was a lot of side effects so the doc would add more pills (Wellbutrin) to blunt the effect of the original pills (Prozac). In the end I couldn't sleep and he prescribed Xanax. I bascially felt like a Zombie - actually I didn't FEEL anything anymore so one day I just dumped them all in the trash.
I am not sure anybody currently on the board is taking anti-depressants but I hope you get some answers.
Love & hugs, Kristina
