What do you think of the news coverage about Mary Kate Olsen having anorexia? I've been following it as closely as I can, and it makes me really jealous.

> I just want to tell you there is nothing to be jelous of. It will consume your every waking moment. If you were smart like i think you are you will turn and run from these demonds that will ruin your life if you continue on.

There is not one thing pretty i can tell you about this. From hanging onto the wall because you are to weak to walk. To hanging onto the side of a toliet to get rid of what you put in you. Then knowing you have to stand up and see yourself in the mirror when you are done.

> I will be in much prayer that you do not go any farther with this as like me it will haunt you the rest of your life. I implore you to turn and do not look at Mary Kate. Do not make her look like a hero. Look up to your mom or another older lady who has not traveled this road.In the end you will be so much better off. I am sure Mary Kate did not make this public so to be someones hero. I know for fact she would not this is not just a contest to see who is the best. It is a silent killer who has taken many young ladies and teens. If you need someone to talk to feel free to email me and time and i will be watching this letter for your answer if you need.

>Thanks for coming forward but now turn and run it is not worth it in the end. If you need help you have come to the right place.

stacy,

i know how you feel, i feel jealous about mary kate too sometimes. although, you do have to take into consideration her height... she's like 5 foot nothing. and media hype as well. i'm 5 foot 8 and a half so it's so difficult for me to compare myself to someone like her. try to find another roll model, a healthy one, and an older one, one who's travelled through life and been though all of this (or at least seen) BS. But I know it's hard when her face (and body) is plastered all over every single magazine cover.

Take care

Thanks for your reply! I greatly appreciate your compassion and support. I'm about your height (5'8"), so I understand what you mean about it being hard to compare yourself to shorter girls. You are probably right that I should search for healthier role models. Like you said, though, it is hard when there are stories about the Olsen twins everywhere.

Janet,

Thanks for replying to my post. I realize that Mary Kate isn't just doing this for the media attention. I know that she is having a problem, and is just trying to get help for it. I admire her for that. It's not her fault that the media is broadcasting all over the news about her. Thanks again for reading my post and replying to me!

I'm 5'8" too.. I used to be 5'8" 1/2 but I shrank.. maybe from the eating disorder? I had a bone scan and they said everything's fine, but I shrank anyway. but anyway, it's so hard being sooo heavy compared to everyone else, even at a healthy weight.. which i'm not, i'm overweight now, but that's all the more worse since overweight for me is REALLY heavy..

Meg,

*hugs* I hope that you feel better. I really doubt that you are overweight.
