HI Violet,

If you are too thin already, then there is definitely something wrong with dieting. And in general, there shouldn't be a need for people to diet. If you eat healthy and exercise in a healthy manner, you will loose weight if you need to and gain weight if you need to, provided you don't have any other medical issues. If you are anorexic and have been starving yourself already, then cutting out carbs, aside from that not being healthy if you cut all of them, you will just mess up your metabolism more and more. Your body will go into starvation, if it is not already, and your metabolism will slow down completely. It will take less and less food to even maintain your weight.

It sounds like what you are really looking for is some attention and love but you are going about it the wrong way. Do you have friends and family that know about your ED or are you trying to fight this battle on your own?

I would focus on healing your eating disorder and not on loosing weight. Continues focus on your body while ignoring the emotional side of this issue, is like fighting a loosing battle. Are you in therapy or any kind of treatment for your ED?

Love & hugs, Kristina

I'm afraid you're going to have to get used to the fact that your ED will be all they talk about. I am considered a recovered anorexic, and have been for a couple of months now. It's been 2 years since I was hospitalized. But my parents still talk about it a lot. It's annoying, but you have to realize that that is how they show their concern and love.

As for your carb cutting...I happen to think that is the worst diet out there. Carbs provide complex energy for your body, which is especially important if you are exercising. Are you just eating a lot of meat? Or are you eating carb substitute stuff? I saw a nutritionist the first 3 months of my recovery. I highly recommend it. You can learn what your body needs and develop a plan that is healthy and that you feel comfortable with. Most insurances will cover it.
