Hello,

I can't believe I am posting this but I need some advice. I think I have a eating disorder, but I am not sure or just in denial. I am 5'8" and I weigh 128lbs I want to get to 125lbs and then I want to stop (I am taking diet pills to reach my goal). I do eat I just don't eat a lot of junk food and cut out my snacking I use to do of my sweets, fast food or anything else I think might have too many calories for me and I always look at the calorie intake of what I eat and I don't go over my calorie intake of 1500. I run for at least 60-70 mins every other day and do either two of these three listed of fast walking/run (30mins) or elliptical or cycling (30mins)each on the other day and do either my upper or lower weights with each day with my cardio and yes I do it so I don't gain weight and to lose weight. When I do miss a day, not intentionally, I feel depress and fat. I do give myself one day a month of what I call pig out day where I just eat what ever and not count anything, but then that night my stomach starts hating me by getting stomach pains. I just have a fear of gaining weight and don't want to weigh or get close to what I use. I should include one more thing I am planing with my husband on getting pregnant real soon.

If weight is the focus of your life, then I think you may have an issue. I found that I never reached that "goal" weight. I told myself that at 110, I'd stop, then when I got there, I decided that I needed and 5 pound bumper, and then when I got there, double digits sounded soooo good. If you want to get pregnant, you have to be healthy both on the inside and out... I would make an appointment with your doctor and be perfectly open and honest and see what he/she thinks. I am not expert but I have had 3 kids and know the weight you have to gain to be healthy and support and healthy child. good luck... Oh, and stop taking diet pills, you don't need them and they are harming your already underweight body.

At that height your weight sounds very low. 1500 calories is most likely what your body needs if you did nothing all day. Considering that you are running that much, your body needs more and you are probably going into starvation mode...meaning your body's metablism will slow down more and more, making it harder to maintain your weight. I know this will be hard to believe, but you would probably get better results if you ate more. I was excatly like you and now I eat WAY more and exercise less and I am still maintaining my weight and staying lean.

I would also look into therapy. There is something deeper going on, in my opinion, than wanting to loose weight. That's just a symptom of some emotional issue or issues that need to get resolved.
