Hi All,
I just want to encourage you to look at the posts in the Faith Based Recovery Folder that Michelle is posting every day. While the book 'The Purpose Driven Life' was written by a Christian author, the questions to ponder every day could be applied to any faith. If you don't believe in God, replace the word God with 'Higher Power' or what ever it is you believe in.
The questions will make you think about your life, your motives, your focus, etc. and it might be helpful to write it down and discuss with others.
EDs are not about control and 12 step programs will tell you that you need to give up that control to God (a higher power, buddha, some other God, etc.). These programs are very effective and successful in helping people with addictions of any kind, including eating disorders. Going to a 12-step program would be a good addition to posting here and getting individual therapy.
Love & hugs, Kristina
