Periods?

I'm really not sure if this has anything to do with my "ED" or not, but I began birth control pills about 5 months ago. At first everything was pretty normal, but not I havent really had a period in about 3 months (I think). So, what I was wondering is could it be possible its because of my eating habits? I havent lost any weight though, I acually think I gained some, but my eating habits have been kinda strange(i.e. one day ill eat normal, then next day about half as much, and the next day double that)it's all messed up. I know I should talk to my doc. about this but i was just waiting it out a little.

my understanding is that when you're on the pill, your periods should be pretty regular because that's the function of the last 7 pills (or the 7 days you don't take the pill). so if you're missing your periods, it's a good idea to ask your doctor. if you've only recently started eating more, the missed periods could be residual from an earlier time when you were eating less. it took about 3 months of normal, healthy eating for mine to return.

hemmy is right, you should have regular periods while you are on the pill. However, I do believe having an ED may be able to affect that. Even if you are eating ok right now, if you are too thin and don't have enough body fat, your body may not be able to have periods despite the pill. Definitely go see your doc and be as honest as you can possibly be.

Some birth control pills can cause some women's periods to stop completely. Happened to a friend of mine, who doesn't have ED. Otherwise I agree with everyone else, and either way you should let your gyn know. That bc may not be right for you.

What kind of birth control is it? I started taking Yasmin about a year or so ago, and at first, it made me spot for a couple weeks, but I've always gotten regular periods at the same time every month from it. I think that you should definitely talk to you doctor. You can ask him not to tell your parents about it. I've written my doctor letters before, and told him that I didn't want my parents to know about what I'd written. I'm over eighteen, though, so I don't think that he could legally tell them even if he wanted to.
