Fitness/ED question

Is it possible that all the vomiting I did during pregnancy and after has caused my stomach muscles to form outward? I know if you breathe the wrong way during ab workouts that can happen, and I wonder if I basically have done the same thing during my "episodes"? I am eating healthy (I only purge the extra food I eat, not my main meals), working out all the time and my stomach still looks fat and slightly pregnant. I am actually even very close to my goal weight, but I think my stomach looks awful.

Do you think I could have made my stomach like this from vomiting? What do you think?

well, i've heard from various instructors at my gym that you can build your stomach muscles outward if you don't suck it in when you do a crunch. but i've also heard a lot of fitness nonsense and chicanery from the same instructors, so i find it hard to just accept almost everything any fitness "expert" says.

i do not believe that you can build your stomach muscle outward to the point that it creates a bulge like what you're describing. i don't think it's true that you can breathe improperly during a workout, especially one as rudimentary as abs...and it's definitely not true that breathing will make your stomach muscles stick out.

i think it's a lot more likely that you're really sensitive about the way your stomach looks, and you probably feel really self conscious about certain parts of your body. is it possible that this is your eating disorder talking? it's natural for women to have a bit of a swell in the abdomen. i've never been pregnant, and my stomach sticks out and looks a bit soft. even when i suck it in, my stomach definitely has a gentle outward swell.

Yeah, I wonder how much of what you're describing is actually your ED talking. I know I can convince myself that I look hideous, when I really don't.

I think it takes an awful lot to build stomach muscles outward, like you're describing... but I'm not 100% sure.

Anyway... sorry I wasn't much help. Just wanted to let you know that I'm here if you need to talk.
