College cheerleading?

I really want to try out to be a cheerleader for my college. I was a cheerleader for a while in high school. Do you think that trying out for cheerleading will make me feel worse about myself and make me want to lose more weight? I'm just wondering what everyone else thinks.

Hi! Sorry I havent been on in awhile, I have been extremly busy with school and practice! Anyways, I think it is a great idea for you to try out for cheerleading!! It would be great/healthy exercise, and it could possibly help to take your mind of your ED. The only problem might the time it comsumes, often there is practice multiple times a week, and it can be very stressful. I'm speaking from my experience on my HS squad, but im guessing its the same if not more demanding for a college squad. :) good luck!!

Hi Reba,

From what you have shared about yourself I think it would probably just trigger you to loose more weight. You see yourself as big when you are really not and my guess is you will see everybody else on the squad as thinner than you, even though they are not, and it might set you off even more. The fact that you are concerned about it says something, too. Cheerleading sounds like fun but I would hate for you to be miserable becuase you *think* everybody else is thinner.

Kristina,

I've pretty much decided not to try out for cheerleading for the reasons that you mentioned. I think that it would be too much stress for me. I'm going to try to find another activity instead.

Love,
