This may be the stupidest question EVER, but is there any way to recover from a 3-yr ED without gaining much (preferably ANY) weight? I was ana and mia for years, and am low-normal weight right now... TINY upper body and fat legs. :-/ Blah. Basically I think my metabolism is effed up from so much purging. Should I begin eating small amts and not throwing up- or will I gain? It is sooooooooo hard for me to digest ANYTHING. How should I go about this? I have a dr and therapist already, they don't understand or help at all, but please dont reccommend trying more bc I have seen literally over 20 professionals in the field. Ugh I hate this. Any 2 cents would be great.

I would eat 5 to 6 small meals/snacks per day consisting of a combo of protein, veggies, fat, and some fruit. You can take enzymes with your food to help aid in digestion until your body gets better at it. By eating several small meals your blood sugar will stay balanced and you will rev up your metabolism.

It's not a stupid question BTW. I think most of us probably worry about that when we decide to nourish our bodies.

Hi Sweety,

I agree with Kristina, eat little but often, and eat nutritious foods. That way your weight doesn't sky rocket and you stay healthy.
