Target ads

Is anyone else dismayed at the current Target ads? One caught my attention a few days ago. It featured all sorts of young people dancing around (to, I belive "Anything You Want"), but all of the female models were emaciated! I know most models are, but this was even beyond what you normally see. To make matters worse, I have checked the Target.com website periodically over the past week, and there is always an extremely thin woman featured on the front page. Sites of similar stores, such as kmart.com, sears.com and walmart.com haven't even featured people on their first pages, but show merchandise instead! I sent an email to customer relations from the Target.com website, and I just received a response saying that they appreaciate my comments, but that their models reflect "customer expectations". I've never heard anything so ridiculous! If you have been shocked by Target's refusal to accept that they are presenting negative images of young women, please send them an email or letter to complain like I did!

I went to their website and saw one model, but you can't even see her entire body... she looked "regular" model-thin though... I'll keep my eye out for the commercial. I admire your activism and determination, even after their a**hole replies (I've gotten that crap from protesting companies that do testing/cruel commercials with animals).

Well, keep on keepin' on! :-)
