Taking it slow

I know I need to get myself together.  It seems like such a enormous task.  It almost makes me want to crawl in a hole and hide.  I'm going to try though to make a concious effort to really make some changes in my life.  I think if I could be able to find things that I could accomplish it would help me.  Also I need to find ways to try and be kind to myself.  My therapist says I need to find things to do for myself that are good, and kind for me and help me feel worthwhile.  I've lost interest in pretty much everything, so this is really hard to think of anything to do.  I really want to try to eat healthy and exercise without feeling overwhelmed.  I wish food wasn't such a big issue in my life.  I give it way too much power.  I need to set some goals for myself.  I have got to do this for me.  I can't be just passive in my life anymore.  I have to be an active participant.

Hi nrs_glr,

Thank you for posting this message. What you said is a good thing for all of us to do and remember.

You said you have lost interest in pretty much anything. Are there things that you used to do and enjoy like going for a walk with a friend, painting, journaling, reading books, taking a bath, getting a massage, etc. that you could try now? If not, this could be a little adventure. You could pick things that you think might be fun and give them a try.

I know it's hard when food has that much power over you. This will get better over time so don't give up. Recovery will require some patience but it really is worth it.

Let us know if you want some support with setting your goals or otherwise.

Love & hugs, Kristina
