shruken stomach?

is it true that an eating disorder can cause your stomach to "shrink" and become abnormally distended or harbor discomfort after a normal or even small meal? recovering from anorexia, ive found that this is true with me--about the distended/uncomfort accompanied with excessive burping or my stomach being very tender to the touch. does this ever go away with time, does the stomach ever go back to normal, or am i forever doomed to deal with this as a horrible outcome of how terribly i treated my body during my struggle with anorexia? i have even tried to eating smaller more frequent meals for a few months now and the feelings are still the same.

Hi and welcome to the board.
My thought is that this would eventually go away, but then I am not a doctor. How long has it been since you have been eating normally again? Could it be certain types of food versus the amount? I would probably go see a doctor and talk to them just to give yourself some peace of mind.
Good for you for not starving yourself anymore...that's really awesome. Do you feel like sharing how you did it?

Hi she's_a_lady and welcome!
I agree with Kristina that you need to see a doctor to discuss this issue -- and congratulations on your continued recovery!
