I went from starving myself with occasional binging ~ to binging with occasional starving. Heard that is common for those of us w/ed. I used to be so much smaller than I am now, so I am kinda freaking out. Been under x-treme stress, so went to an intake appt last week and start a stress/ anxiety class tomorrow, and therapy next Saturday.
Whew. Needed to vent.

Hi Michelle,
It's good to hear from you - I got your emails also.
What you are describing does sound very familiar and I believe it's common. And I think you already know that what you see in the mirror is not what everybody else sees. Just thought I would point that out again. :)
What are you doing for recovery these days?

Hi Kristina,
Sorry I took a couple days to reply but I've been pondering the question you asked: "What are you doing for recovery these days?"
Honestly... Nothing. Maybe that is why ed is bugging me again. Maybe it explains a lot of things. It is etched into my brain to get nutrients, so I do try to at least take vitamins if/when I don't eat right.
Missed the stress workshop Saturday due to illness, but my first counseling appointment has been moved to this Saturday. So I will discuss ed with my new counselor~ plus the stressful situations I've been in and see what she suggests.
Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks hon,
Hugs, Michelle
I have been reading "Life without ED" and "Eating in the Light of the Moon". Both are available on Amazon and both have been very helpful. I personally think that counseling is beneficial and for me what was important is that it is a Christian counselor. The last one I was seeing did not have experience in ED counseling but at the time there was other stuff going on and it was helpful to see her. The new counselor I am seeing is a woman who has struggled with an ED, has recovered, and has been helping women with EDs for 15 years. I see her individually and I also attend a group session that she hosts.
If money is an issue, which it is for us, you can ask if the potential counselor has a sliding fee scale. I pay half of what she normally charges. Today I sent her an email about stopping the group because I can't afford both individual sessions AND the group ($20 per meeting). She emailed back and said to keep attending the group and not to worry about paying for now if that arrangment works for me.
Let me know what you think.
Love & hugs, Kristina
