hey, i am now at an intensive treatment center and am restricted to only leave with staff. The first two weeks I had to stay at the center because of an overdose and bacardi rum. I didn't even get my shoes and jacket until this week, because the first night i tried to run. They found out that i was purging every day and I now have a shadow staff member for 45 minutes after i eat. The refrigerators and cupboards are locked (really sucks). It has been 48 hours without purging. They told me today that it has to be a week before i get off restrictions. i don't think il make it. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Hi Came2006,
I am glad that you've found our board. As restrictive as everything is right now for you, concentrate on one day at a time only, instead of thinking of another whole week. If concentrating on one day also seems too long and too difficult, concentrate on the next 4 or 5 hours ahead of you.
I am assuming that you are also having sessions with a therapist. Take this as a good opportunity to talk about the ED, if you haven't already done so, and try to learn positive coping skills. The skills and methods are difficult to implement, but if you know what they are and you try to practice this everytime you feel anxious and unsafe, it's a good start.
Do come here when you need to talk. Sharing with others brings a lot of relief, and the ladies on this board are also very supportive and knowledgeable.
I hope you come back again to tell us how you are doing.
All my best,
