Question about recovery cravings - trigs

I am in recovery for anorexia and have about 20 pounds to gain to be at the low end of a healthy weight for my height. I am finding that as I allow myself to eat a wider variety of foods, I am craving high fat foods like butter and peanut butter. I am wondering if that is typical. I talked to someone else who said that it is the body's way of gaining weight. Has anyone else experienced this? I just wondered if I was normal???

Hi kc8eaa,

I have heard before that we crave what we need, but I am not sure if this is true. However, IMO there is absolutely nothing wrong with butter and it is actually good for you (and much better than margarine). If you eat peanut butter, just make sure you buy the natural, organic kind. Peanuts are the most heavily pesticide sprayed plants of all and you don't want to be getting all those pesticides in your body. Some other healthier alternatives are organic almond butter or raw almonds.
