'Mornin!!

Wow, the weekend flew and I did not have a chance to check in!  We spent most of the time at my sister's, where we surprised mom so completely!  Dad turned 80 last October and he figured out that we were having a big party when he saw mom come in with more food than he knew they needed!  So -- were unsure just how surprised she would be., she is very smart lol.

She'd had a nice b-day dinner with sis, bro&family, and dad on her real b-day and expected no more -- we thought she might be feelin sorry for herself that she didn't get a big surprise on her big day but i had sent cards and apologies for not being able to make it so I guess she was ok with it.

My other sis&crew amd me and my two ds's were there to complete the picture, it was a wonderful time.  We cherish every get together we can have while everyone is still "around," so to speak  :)

We went to a bkfast buffet on Sunday and it made me nervous and a little nauseated -- with the desserts and all the food stations.  I managed my way through though and had safe stuff.  I'm not a big morning eater anyway.

As far as eating goes, I have two almost 14-year-old boys and omigosh, what they can put down -- downright scary.  They are growing so fast.

Anyway, I'm writing to say a big 'HI!' :::waving:::

I've read through all the qotw replies so far.  You guys are jammin'!!   I appreciate all the honesty and I must say you're all simply the best.  I'll be replying in awhile.

Here's to a good week.

Thanks so_cal,

Yeah I told my one ds that these are the things that he will remember most in the future.

How was your own weekend?

That's so true - I do remember quality time with my grandparents and reflect fondly upon those memories. My weekend was nice, as my dh didn't have to work and one of my closest friends came to stay with us - along with her dh and their 11-week old daughter. It was so special having them here with us. Food- and body-wise, it was a tough weekend, as holidays seem so focused around food. But, my T and I talked lots about it today, and while I may *feel* one way, we worked on the logic and discussed the facts about where I really am relative to how bad I might feel. The disconnect between feelings and reality is so tough right now...but week-by-week and day-by-day we're working on it.

I hope you and your ds's are having a good week upon return from your great vacation!

Love and hugs,
so_cal

Hay so_cal!

Wow I am so impressed with you and what you are doing in therapy, because that is SO what it's all about for me!
