Christmas is coming, other holidays for other faiths, and many religious and secular celebrations are upon us!
Give a list *here* of your favorite things about the holidays, anything from being off school to sharing time with loved ones.
Favorite things *only* -- a challenge for some I know, as there are many stressors that accompany this time of year.

I dont see well without my glasses (yes this IS a positive LOL) the only great thing about bad eyesight is the soft glow of Christmas trees....I love looking at them with my glasses off (LOL-told you it was positive)
I like the music...my 11 year old sings wonderfully, but there is nothing like a Christmas song being massacred by a 2 year old.
I love the look in my girls eyes.
Everything looks better, smells better, tastes better, sounds better & just generally all-around feels better with Christmas written on it;) I think I may be one of Beth's dds. LOL jan
Ohhh! I love holiday stuff!
My favorite thing of the holiday is seeing my sister and her family! She lives far from the rest of us (her husband is in the Navy) so we only get to see her twice a year. She is my best friend and I miss her dearly throughout the year. Plus, her older son says I'm his favorite aunt - can't beat that!
Other favorite things...decorations and the overall feeling of the holiday. I feel like there's an overall feeling of joy and warmth with people during this time of year. The music is not so bad either.
Beth!
You brought out a much needed laugh - thank you, my friend! I really needed that.
You reminded me of a dear friend of mine. When she finally got her glasses, she realized how life was sometimes so much softer and gentler and more beautiful in the days before her vision was corrected. Not only were 90 degree angles were suddenly a lot sharper than she realized they were, but she also said that people were just generally more... beautiful. She
Beth, I had forgotten about the glasses thing!

What I've noticed about the major holidays for each religion is that people are nice. They are a lot more open, generous and nice and it's a pleasure to take some time to sit down and catch up since everyone's making extra effort to connect.
I love the lights. I love the Christmas windows. I love waking up to a white Christmas when I'm in Europe, and to celebrate Christmas under a palm tree when I'm in Asia. I love the carousel they have on the piazza - it's absolutely beautiful when it's dark and foggy outside.
I think I may be one of Beth's dds.

Maybe you are one of my kids!
My eldest son (in everything except blood or legalities) is 30, and I have 2 grandchildren by him
The next oldest we don't see (his choice, not ours) is 20, and there is a grandchild there we haven't seen.
The DD#1 is 11
The last DD is 2 and 1/2.
If you fit in those age groups...you could be mine. Heaven knows, blood and legalities have never mattered to DH or I.
