Need advise for step daughter

Hi

I have a stepdaughter of 21 years old. She is bulimic. My husband and her mother know about this but nothing is being done about it. They had a meeting to discuss what was to be done. It seemed that SD was very relieved it was out in the open but now she seems to be more "clever" with ways with hiding her puking. She came away with us over christmas and New year. It was terrible as I had bought food for the time we were away but she ate most of the stuff within the first day away. I hid food but she found it. Husband is acting like its not happening. Either out of frustration or embarassment.

What can we do to help her? I know I shouldn't be angry with her but I can't stop myself. I feel like we should rather just flush our salaries down the toilet instead of letting it damage her body first. I need advise desperately!

First of all, she needs to know that she is NOT alone in her struggle: millions of women suffer from bulimia. Second- GET HER TO COUNSELLING! Even if it seems to go away, bulimia always stays with you unless you do something about altering your mindset.

You need to be there for her 100% and not judge her. Get her help. You should keep her parents informed, but let your stepdaughter know she is not alone and you are not angry with her. Maybe you ought to suggest to the parents that they talk to some one as well.
