late period

was wondering if anyone had any answers to this... i've been off of bcp since june but started taking again from august to october. immediately during the 4th week of the 3rd pack at end of october i had a normal period for 7 days. i stopped bcp then. then a month later at end of november i had another normal period for 6 days. i am now 7 days late for my period. and i have not had any sexual activity whatsoever since october.(didn't have any sexual activity since before june either till a few days in october) i have however been struggling with bulimia over december (have had somewhat of an eating disorder since july but would binge and purge only few times a month if at all)... but once i was off school in december i was purging 1 to as many as 3 times a day almost every day. most especially around the holidays.. anything i put in my mouth i would get rid of. i finally made myself stop for new years and havent done anything for the last 7 days. so my question is... would all the purging cause my period to be this late or cause it to be missed? or should i be concerned of a possible pregnancy from back in october even though i have had 2 normal periods since then. i have lost about 10 lbs since november (due to low-carb diet and eating disorder) so is it just the weight loss? i have lost a total of 25 lbs since june. i am 5'9 and weigh about 120lbs.. i know its bad but i am seriously trying to gain the weight now as a new years resolution. thanks for any help.

There can be a number of different reasons why your period maybe late...
1. Sometimes it takes a couple months for your body to readjust itself once you are off BC. BC pills are hormones, so your body may need a little extra time to regulate itself.
2. Weight loss does play a role in a missed period. When your body loses a lot of weight and there is not enough nutrition to sustain itself, it will shut down certain bodily systems to try to maintain other vital organs.
3. Your body is quite sensitive to change, some more than others. Any weight loss at a quick rate can be dangerous for all the systems in your body.
4. Other reproductive issues not related to an eating disorder.
Are you seeking any help for your eating disorder? I consider a late period/lack of period as a health concern. Having a regular period is like an indicator saying that your body is doing ok. I would get it checked with a GYN to narrow down the problem.
Hope that helps!
