Hey everybody!!!

O.k. so, i have been battling with anorexia since about June but now can say I am almost fully recovered!!! I've been eating well for about 2 months now and with the help of my family have had like no Triggers!!!...But.... I am not exactly looking like 100% better..Im still very frail, especially on my upper half and haven't had my period in quite some time. I'm going for a doctors appointment on friday and I'm so nervous!!. One I don't really want her to see me with no clothes on and I don't want to go on the pill!!! So, I'm eating everything in sight in hope that everything will become better. PLEASE SOMEBODY GIVE ME SOME ADVICE!!!!! I'M GOING CRAZY HERE!!!! Did any of u regain your periods without any "help"???? If so, please say HOW!!!! And remember I ONLY HAVE 4 MORE DAYS!!!!(O god better go eat some more...lol)

Hi caliprincess!

Glad to hear that things are improving. The physiological recovery from an eating disorder takes a longer time than the psychological healing. Until your body has fully adjusted to the added weight, your period can return without assistance.

Please, be careful. Eating everything in sight will not make your period return any faster (Trust me, I've tried it! It does more harm than good.) Any fluctuations in body weight can effect how your reproductive system works. By slowly adding the weight your body has an easier time adjusting.

Don't be nervous about your appointment. If you've been following your recovery plan as close as you can, things should turn out to be ok. Take in mind; the doc is just making sure that things are progressing not passing judegment.

HTH and good luck with your appointment!

You don't have to eat everything in sight. Just be very open and honest with your doctors. I know it's hard but they will really help you in the long run. So don't lie to them.
