There was a previous conversation in another thread that made me go out and do a little research on this subject. It is a complication because when restricting & purging food we are not allowing our bodies to have the necessary vitamins & nutrients to keep all of our bodily systems healthy.
Osteoporosis is a 'silent' complication to eating disorders. It's considered 'silent' because the symptoms take time to show. In some cases, by them time the symptoms to appear, it may be too late. Here are some articles concerning Osteoporosis & eating disorders.
