first follie check...a little nervous

Ok so my donor had her first follie check today. She started stims on 12/1, so technically, had only taken 3 doses by the time of her u/s this morning...today is day 4. She had 12 small follies, which is totally normal. Her e2 is only 84, and they want it 100-200 by this point, so they are upping her Gonal F dose to 450 from 300.
I am nervous. I knew this donor would likely not be the donor to produce 20+ eggs, based on her antral follie count (14) but now her e2 isn't rising properly??? This is JUST MY LUCK. the nurse said that it's still sooo early and that med adjustments are totally common, but still. I feel like i should practically start looking for a new donor for next cycle now. I know you will all say I am crazy, but I'm just nervous...why can't this every be easy?

We'll know more on MOnday....

Curious- how many eggs have you all retrieved in donor cycles before and if you remember, what were her counts leading up to ER??

AMBER- I TOLD you I wouldn't not be able to find out details!!!!!!!!!

Kate, it's definitely too early. Don't freak out (I know) but really, it's too early. Plus, these are 20-something eggs, so the chances are very good the quality will be excellent. Try not to worry too much about the quantity, and you're right, they will get her E2 up with the meds.

Kate,

I agree with the other posts, it's still very early and adjustments have to made to meds all the time. I'm sure you'll see things improving very soon. These are quality eggs too so don't focus so much on the number. Hang in there!

thanks everyone. I know what you're all saying, and I'd probably be saying the same thing....BUT this is not a proven donor. Theoretically, she should have good eggs....but theoretically so should I and CERTAINLY so should my sister (who was only 26 when she was a donor for me)....it's just hard when i have 2 examples of first-hand experience w/ low amount and low-quality eggs w/ people who technically have 'young eggs'.

BUT, I appreciate teh support!!

I haven't been through this phase myself (used frozen oocytes) so I don't have any experience ... but it sounds like it's still REALLY early and I'm sure there's plenty of time for things to turn around.

In the end though, it only takes ONE you know :)

Hang in there, I'm sure the cycle will go well for you!
