Hi ladies, I introduced myself in another post and I am researching the process of donor egg.

Could anyone tell me what the difference is in Fresh Cycle and FET (Frozen Emby Transfer)? The clinic I live by say that they charge $32,000 for 4 fresh cycles - with unlimited FETs. I'm trying to understand exactly all the costs involved. There is also a $7,000 fee for each additional fresh cycle for the donor. This is a shared risk program with a refund if a baby is not produced.

thanks gals, this is all so new to me. i'm just trying to understand it. I don't want to be slapped with additional costs once we're knee deep into this.

thanks
Lynda

Hi Lynda,

You would probably need to call the clinic and speak to someone about their program to get confirmation on all possible fees.

Right, as Christine says, a "fresh" cycle is one where you're synchronized w/ the donor (and any other recipients) and the eggs are fertilized and then 1-2 good embies are transferred.

If there are more good embies, they are frozen, and then you'd do a FET cycle if the fresh one was unsuccessful.

thanks ladies. ok so if i'm understanding this right, my program covers 4 fresh cycles and unlimited FETs so it's more than 4 attempts if the FETs survive the thaw? I like those odds much better!

Thanks for the info! It helps to have a place to come to to ask questions! thanks
