Welcome to the board!
There used to be a couple of women here that tried at home inseminations.
it's been a long time since i ttc'ed but i still occassionally come to this board
Actually I just tried my first IVI attempt last week. My doctor suggested it to me since I had no issues with my fertility and felt it would be a cheaper route for me to go. We agreed that I would try 4 months at home and if nothing happened, would move to IUI at the office. Honestly the actual procedure at home is no problem, it's finding the right day, and getting the ovulation right that has been most stressful for me. I went with European Sperm Bank out of Seattle and they have been very helpful. I recommend them highly.
Hi! My name is Tracie, and my SO & I have been doing inseminations at home.
We actually have tried 8 cycles at home (both ICI and IUI), and will be doing our 9th tomorrow (this time with meds - Clomid & trigger). I think the reason it hasn't worked is that I was off on my ovulation.
Anyway, it is a little awkward at first, and I would highly recommend doing research to know what equipment to use and what the cervical opening looks like. You also may want to practice a few times before the real deal, just so that you're both comfortable with everything. It is a much more intimate way to do the procedure (obviously), but there are pros & cons - I'd
