This past week has been like a real bad nightmare.
My brother as you know has hospice care at my home.
When he finished his radiation treatments last month, he was feeling good for about a week and then he had his 50th birthday. It seems after that is when he started getting worse. He just got to where he just didn't have any more strength left.
Last Fri. The whole Hospice team had to come out to my home and see him.
He is now so weak that he can no longer get out of bed.
He has blood clots in his legs and they are very painful.
He is starting to have more trouble breathing now and the Docter said the he is really starting to decline fast. The good thing about this is that as long as he is in bed resting he does not seem to be in as much pain. He told us not to worry about him. He said "I'm alright. I just keep my eyes on him and I know that I'm alright."
The docters at radiation last month wanted him to try Chemo this month but he told them no. Even if he had wanted to try it he would not be able to now because he is so weak. The hospice docter asked him if he wanted to go to the hospital or stay home and be treated at home and he said he just wanted to be here at home with us. I told him that what ever he wanted to do was fine with me and the docter said at this point being here with his family was probably best. They said that he didn't have much longer. That it could be any time now. They offered him around the clock nursing care but he said he didn't want that. I don't know but I may have to talk to the docter about that. I don't know if I can handle this by myself. I'm trying.
I would appriciate any prayers for my family. While all of this is going on this past week my son was having some trouble and passed out twice. One of my other brothers had to have heart surgery and one of my brother in-laws had a major stroke and my mother just called and told me that my great aunt just passed away today. I'm sorry but I'm just feel numb. I guss that Gods way of helping me cope with all of this.
I'm trying to hold on the best that I can but its real hard.
got to go for now, Sharon
