Hey Folks

If you have been around a while, you know that one of my students has cancer, so does my uncle and my MIL is 2 years cancer free. The uncle has had some issues, the radiation caused some colon damage and he needed a colonectomy. My student is losing weight. She is now down to 65 pounds. There doesn't seem to be more cancer, but the DR have had to put in a feeding tube.

My aunt, the one married to the uncle with the stomach/colo-rectal cancer, has just been diagnosed with stage 1 ovarian cancer. She was found to have masses on both ovaries and some metastism. So at 80, she will start chemo. She hates the idea of losing her hair. My Dad, her big brother, will drive her to chemo. Got to love family.

Love you all of you here.

Thanks Philly

Of all of them, I most worry about my student. I can't help but think they have missed something. She is being tutored by a co-worker, she may come back to school part time in the spring.

I shudder each time I think of her situation.

Hi Judy

It is always nice hearing from you.

My aunt is 80, but neither looks nor acts it. She is the matriarch of a large family (the grandma of the 7 year old who had the stroke last year, remember me talking about that?) and has tons of support. I figure if she is worried about her hair, then she is well on the way to remission!
