New here and mom had brain cancer

Hi everyone! My name is Jenny! My mom got sick with brain cancer about this time last year and it forever changed my life. She got lost coming home from the grocery store in a town where she lived most of her life. She then lost all of her eyesight in her right eye and most of her vision in the left one as well. She drove herself to the emergency room and the dr. did some tests and an MRI to see what was causing all these problems. The tests showed that she had a tumor and they did brain surgery to remove as much as they could without turning her into a vegetable. The didn't get all of the tumor so they did chemo and radiation therapy but she went back to the dr. and the therapies did not change the size of the tumor. There was nothing more for them to do for her so they recomended hospice care. My mom was very upbeat and positive and only God could give her that attitude. My parents divorced when I was three years old and I don't know much about my father except that he is a jerk to all of us kids. He wants nothing to do with us. I haven't told him about my mom I have his address and I thought about writing him but I don't know. I don't want to cause any friction between my brother and sister if I contact him. Needless to say I feel like an orpan right now. I live in Florida and my family lives in Texas I really miss them but I just can't move right now to be closer to them. We are working on our home that almost was destroyed from hurricane Charley in 2004. Well I'll write more later I have to go for now to see what is going on with my kids. Thanks for lisening! Jenny!

Hi Jenny. Hugs! It is hard being away from family. I, too, am at a good distance from mine. Just find ways to be with them, snail mail, web cams, email, etc. My friends and I all bought $25 webcams from walmart and they are so much fun. We show the cute things our kids are doing or even just watch each other type. It makes them feel closer to me.
Hope we can chat some more,
Hi Jenny
