Mood Swings and Chemo...related?

My boyfriend was told a couple of months ago that he has cancer. He started treatment and immediatley became a different person...unreasonable, unemotional and distant. They stopped his treatment thinking they were finished and he returned to the loving and caring individual he once was. The cancer came back though and he is halfway through his remaining treatments. Again, his personalitly has changed drastically. I can hardly even talk to him without it ending in some sort of arguement. Is this typical with patients undergoing chemo? Or is it more likely just the stress of the cancer alone?

Any input would be appreciated...I'm going crazy!

Thanks.

I think it is the medication that is giving him problems.

Here's a link that explains the side effects of Chemo.

Hi,
Sorry that you have to deal with this.I am a breast cancer survivor and I finished chemo Nov 13 2006.I assure you that it is the chemo and the cancer.People that don't have it have no clue as to how much we actually suffer.Stay by his side and love him through it,he needs you more than you realize. We are scared and in pain and being so ill takes its toll on a person.I have fussed/yelled at my husband and kids but they understood after awhile it was the pain talking, not me.God bless and I wish you and your boyfriend peace and love.
