Hi Everyone,
One of my dear friends has just been diagnosed with breast cancer. She and I were having a conversation and joking that she needs her own advent calendar of sorts- some sort of countdown of her chemo treatments where there is a treat to pamper her after each treatment . I want to create this for her, but am unsure of exactly what "treats" would be appropriate.
I was thinking along the lines of using gift bags with numbers on them- one to be opened after each treatment. I have two ideas so far based on the little bit of reading that I've done. The first is bubble bath and the second is something pink and pretty (not only b/c pink is associate with breast cancer, but because it is also her favorite color.)
I was hoping that someone here could make suggestions about the things they did for their friends or maybe cancer patients and survivors could give me an idea of some things they would have liked.
One note- I am two hours away so I am limited in terms of things like cleaning and cooking for her.
Thanks in advance for your ideas!

What a great friend you are to do this for her.
What a great friend you are to want to do something so sweet for your friend.
Hi Maggie
Typing in pink for you!Thank you so much for dropping in with tips.
Thanks for these suggestions... I was going to post (messageboards.ivillage.com/iv-bhbreast) The board you host-- also; but was afraid I might offend some of the ladies there as that board is for mostly those who have BC.
What I hope they realize is : Being survivors and one who is actively going thru BC treatments- You ladies are a WEALTH of information for those of us who strive to learn all we can to help......
My best Friend/Sister has just been diagnosed with infiltrating Ductal Carcinoma of the breast. This woman is SO MUCH MORE than my sister -- she is my best friend even tho she is 7 years older than I am, we share a bond that no one can break. (We have the same father but a different mother-both moms are deceased)
I believe that Ya-Ya sisterhood movie was made for our little group of women friends!!!
Sis and I as well as the others- share years of secrets only we know of each other!!
My sis is very upbeat, positive and has the faith in God abundently to make this be a positive healing experience.
If anyone on your board has any tips of support--They would MUCH appreciated!!!!
I just want to be WHAT she needs me to be during this time.
Thanks for any input and prayers you may send out!
Philly- thanks for your input as well..... I can not seem to read enuff information to be able to be among her strong supporters. Knowledge is Power....
