My best Friend/Sister has just been diagnosed with infiltrating Ductal Carcinoma of the breast. She has had yearly mammograms and this one just showed up.
They biopsied part of one tumor that the doctor removed on Thursday last week. On the follow up visit- She has been told there is 2 more tumors and will have to have the right breast removed and go thru a round of Chemo. This is all schueled to take place in the next two weeks at a specialist in Jackson, Ms Breast Center. One of the best in the state.
This woman is more than my sister -- she is my best friend even tho she is 7 years older than I am, we share a bond that no one can break. Ya-Ya sisterhood movie was made for our little group of women!!! We share years of secrets only the 2 of us know of each other!! She is very upbeat, positive and has the faith in God abundently to make this be a positive experience.
If anyone has any tips of support I can offer in anyway, please feel free to post them.
She and I have talked - I told her I am here for her in whatever I can do to make this next year as easy as possible for her. We lost my mother suddenly to congestive heart failure 2 years ago in August. Her own Mother died when she was 4 years old. (same Rooster- different chick) Our father is undergoing his second treatments now for
Prostrate cancer. He is 76. Doing VERY well. God pulled us all thru those times as He will pull us thru this as well.
I just want to be what she needs me to be during this time.
Thanks for any input and prayers you may send out!

Just wanted to give all of you an update on how the surgery went on Tuesday.
My sister is doing very well. The removal of the right breast went wonderful and the doctors believe they got it all. The reconstruction doctor took over after the surgeon removed it and did what was needed to proceed from here. I understand that once she is healed from the surgery then the chemo and other process will take place. I learn something new everyday of what the next step is.
The road ahead is what will be hard for her. Hopefully with her family and friends as well as her church things will be easier for her. Her Support network is great!!!
All I can say is that Prayers were answered from all over.
The support, care and concern that I have seen with i-villagers offer is tremendous.
Thank you all.
Have a Happy Halloween ( even though I don't celebrate it- I can still say Boo!)
Again- thanks to all of you.
"What can I say? I'm just different."
