questions on secondary liver cancer

My grandmothers breast cancer spread to her spine a year ago. After surgery, chemo seemed to be working. This summer she came off her chemo for a short period of time. She started chemo again sometime in october. Two weeks ago my grandma started turning yellow, the doctor discovered her liver was completely taken over and full of tumors. It's too late for any treatment. she just seemed weaker at first, and she napped more. she actually was very upbeat and having "good days" for about a week and a half. my grandmother hadnt been able to eat much of anything, she continued to get weaker, and she was throwing up most of what she did eat. thanksgiving, she got up showered, got ready and spent most the day with us. then it got worse in a matter of 24 hours, by friday she was in really bad shape. she cant get out of bed, she cant eat anything, she can barely stay awake, and can only whisper. I know she's dying. I know it wont be much longer. what i want to know is what exactly is happening to her? when her liver finally stops, what is it that causes her death? what does she feel? what else should i expect between now and her death? are we going to know when its happening, are there going to be anymore signs? is this as bad as its going to get before she dies? i guess i want to know the general steps that occur when someone is dying of liver cancer and what exactly is happening to her body?

First, I am so sorry for your grandmother.
