Dear all,
Previously, i'm sorry if i'm posting in a wrong category. You can ask me to delete this topic then.
I have a father. He is 53 y.o.
This few months (about 5 months) my father's right ear had had an
infection, and excretes pus with great dizziness continuing with vomit.
2 weeks ago, we meet with ear, mouth and throats doctor. According to
him, my father have a Malignant Otitis Externa. And he is suspected
another disease. He make a presupposition that it is a Lymphoma Malignant.
What I want to ask is. Is that a way we can detect whether my father
have a Lymphoma Malignant without biopsy?
Because my father have a Diabetic.
And he is very sensitive with antibiotic. Every antibiotic injected to
him will make him vomit, dizzy & nausea. I'm afraid if we must perform
biopsy (excisional biopsy & incisional biopsy) we need stronger
antibiotic (maybe makes my father vomit more)
Please help me. I need reply from you Doctor.
Thank You

Welcome to the board.
Thanks Phily,
Ya, i'm afraid everything about surgery.
Even just for knowing the disease (diagnose) we have to go for surgery.
Usually, after surgery. The patient will be given high dose antibiotics to cure. In my father's case.
1. My father kidneys is not good, so he can take high dose antibiotics...
2. My father have an acute diabetes melitus..
3. My father have a wierd effect about antibiotics. Every antibiotics injected to him makes him nausea, vomit, and headache...
But maybe biopsy is the only way..
