brother with Burkitt's Lymphoma

Just wondering if there is anyone out there who has a family member or friend with burkitt's lymphoma?
My 20 year old brother was diagnosed last friday.
I guess I'm just looking for other people who have had experience with this cancer.
My father has said it is a rare and very dangerous cancer yet my mother (who i think is trying to be optimistic) says that everything is fine and it is not a big deal. I live quite far away and at this point I am not allowed to visit so it's hard to find out the truth. I'm not allowed to talk to my brother either because he is constantly hallucinating from the chemo and the drugs they are giving him.
Again, just wondering what other people have experienced with this cancer?
I hope this makes a little bit of sense. I'm just confused and scared more than anything right now.
Thanks!

Thanks for the welcome and the support! It's greatly appreciated. Slowly we're learning more at the hospital. One week till we find out if the chemo is working!

Thank you sooooo much for sharing your experience! It's very inspirational to hear of someone who has made it through this nasty cancer! My brother is currently receiving chemo in his spine to keep the cancer from spreading to his brain but everything is looking good. (or as good as it can at this point)
thank you again. you've made my day :)

thanks again for all the support! everything everyone is mentioning is starting to sound familiar (all similar treatments and symptoms to my brother)
his white blood cell count is really high (finally) and they were going to let him go home this weekend. but something is making him super sick again....ah well..he'll get over it :) (and i mean that in a nice way!)

A friend of mine went through that with her son, he was 12 at the time. He is now around 17 and doing well the last I knew. It was rough on their family, but they made it through and he survived. Hang in there. (((Hugs)))
