My grandfather was dx'ed with AML on Valentines and was immediatly admitted to Rosewell Park in Buffalo (excellent BTW). It has been up and down and his new test came back the chemo didn't kill the cells, they are still in his marrow. He has suffered now since his dx with sweet syndrome, heart failure and he was healthy just months ago. This man raised not only myself and my sister but my niece as well. I guess I always thought there would be more time and now I know there isn't much. He has choosen to go home and live out his remaining days. Please pray his suffering and pain are as minimal as possible in this time. I was very happy to find this board as I have been a wreck and haven't had many places to turn where people understand. BTW he is only 67 yo. and has devoted his life to others.
