She was just diagnosed with sarcoma. Will have another biopsy in a couple weeks, then chemo.

She will not be feeling well, and I'm wondering if there are any resources? Maybe for respite care? Everyone

is working and can't really take over care of this little guy and I'm really worried about him.  Normally, people don't get cancer while having a toddler at home. I know she's going to be wiped out from the chemo and also just the fact she has cancer is upsetting to her. I am having difficulty finding out any information on the internet about this too.

Thanks for any ideas you have...

Thank you SO MUCH. I've been gone visiting her in the hospital. It's large cell sarcoma of the thigh. She will be having surgery soon to take it out then radiation. So! The "good" news is that so far as they know, no chemo. So she will be better able to take care of her little one. She does have a neighbor (I live a long ways away from her) that is taking care of her little one. They don't have enough money to hire anyone really, so it's very nice her neighbor volunteered. I can't imagine being diagnosed with cancer with a newborn! You ARE strong, and I'll bet my friend will get stronger too through this.

While having child having cancer is a very hard process to face. However an attempt to help patients learn to minimize the side effects of cancer drugs and radiation treatment will help them a lot to come out of this process faster. Some of the things which would help are ask her never to pull, tug or scrub the face too hard, ask her to moisturize with products containing sunscreens with a sun protection factor. Also there are patient assistance programs that are offered by some pharmaceutical manufacturers to help pay for medications. We all would pray for her speedy recovery.
