Hello to all, and God Bless all of your family and friends...I came across this website while searching on a way for my mother to recieve transportation from the doctors after chemo....My mother is 49 years old and has had colon cancer for about 3-4 years now. she recieves chemo every other week and also recives herbatox weekly. she previously was given avastin(not sure of the spelling) but had to be taken off due to some bleeding in the vaginal area. she was told by 2 previous hospitals that she had at most a year left to live, and was told in the most disrespectful way, by "professional doctors and staff". My brother searched the internet and found a place called The Block Cancer Center, similar to cancer centers of America. She is currently going thru one of the toughest phases since she has been diagnosed, Dealing with fatigue, loss of weight, loss of hair again, recent surgery for colostomy, and a little depression. I try to provide her with laughter and fresh air as much as possible. I am 23 years old and have an older brother and a troubled 17 year old sister. I put my life on hold this past year to care for her, my brother was her previous constant care taker while i was trying to finish my college career. He had a child a year ago so it was time for me to step up so he can be a dad/husband. I belive this website is great because its hard for people to understand what we as caretakers go thru. i just wanted to share a little bit of my story and i wish everyone on here the best of luck and God Bless. we must stay strong for our family and friends. I'm sure they would do the same for us. talk to everyone soon.

Welcome to the board and big hugs to you.
