Dad is doing okay...

He's healing well, though I know that it will be quite a long recovery from the surgery.  I took him to his post-op appt with the surgeon a week ago, he was very pleased with how well things are looking.  No sign of infection, the ileostomy looks healthy, and Dad was told that there are no dietary restrictions anymore (well, other than the typical heart patient diet).  WooHOOOOO.  This Thursday marks the three week mark since the operation.

He'll be seeing the oncologist on 12/10.  I don't know when chemo will begin, we're hoping that they can hold off on it til after Christmas.  Do you think that would be too much to expect?

Such wonderful news!! (I've been reading your posts.) I agree with Cheryl about chemo being put on hold until after Christmas... If everything is going well, then maybe your dad's doctor(s) will postpone the chemo. Let's hope so! Keep in touch!
