I'm so confused how to go about this!

My baby is almost six months old and we've been exclusively pumping from week one.

How much do you actually get in a session ? When I started dropping pumps, I started dropping sessions cold turkey as long as I was getting only 4-6 ounce in the session and I just made sure I extend the next pumping time a little bit and massage more in order to empty properly.

Good luck with dropping the pumps.

I drop sessions cold turkey, when I wanted to drop a pump I did.

I too would drop pumps cold turkey. It worked better for me just to change my schedule abruptly rather than inch my way to few pumps. Like the PP said...I would feel very full for a week or so, but then my body accepted the new schedule (and I actually got more oz as I dropped from 6x to 5x to 4x -- 4x was my max volume). You'll feel so much freedom when you get to 4!

When I was pumping 5x I pumped 5zm, 9am, 1 pm, 5pm and 9pm...

I so appreciate the tips!

My challenge is that I don't really have a 'schedule' and it's hard to make one when taking care of my baby.

I think you are on track. It usually took me about 3-4 days to feel comfy after a drop, then I would hold there for another few days before making any other changes. And the "schedule" is kind of a loose term. For me it was easier to keep the pumps roughly evenly spaced, rather than one large random gap (other than o/n, of course). But it's OK to just drop, also. Just wanted to throw out another option! GL!
