I don't mean to hijack this thread, but I was reading that you just HUTH and were prone to clogs. I'm down to three pumps and am working toward 2x, but every time I change my schedule I get a clog (usually on the right). Would you mind telling me how you got from 3 to 0 pumps without getting an infection? I'm so afraid of that happening too.

I take lecithin and pump ~ 45 min at 7 am and 4:30 pm and about 35 min at 8 pm. I am getting ~ 30 oz per day at 3x)

thanks!

I'm curious as to why the LC told you to take Benadryl. Benadryl is an anti-histamine and as far as I know histamine doesn't play a role in milk production. What I think would work better is Sudafed (and I have heard to use this) which is a decongestant. The mechanism for decongestants is to dry up secretions (usually nasal but breast in this case) and they also act as a bit of a diuretic, getting rid of fluid in the urine. I'd try Sudafed...

I have read that Mint and Sage both reduce the milk production, have you tried drinking mint tea? I know my production falls when I eat after 8 mints. Also, my family is very productive at lactating, I have always had an oversupply and my niece who nursed for nearly a year said she still had milk and leaked sometimes almost 1 year after weaning, so it can take a while sometimes. Good luck.
